What counts as clinical in aesthetics
Botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, skin boosters, thread lifts, laser and energy based devices, medical grade peels, IV therapy: in Dubai these are healthcare services. That means a DHA licensed facility with the relevant scope, credentialed practitioners operating within what their professional category allows, a licensed medical director, and products arriving through licensed supply channels.
The practical consequence: the licence category and scope are chosen around the treatment menu, not after it. A menu that quietly assumes treatments the scope does not cover is a rebuild waiting to happen.
The licensing build, step by step
Design the treatment menu first
The menu decides the facility category, the room and equipment requirements, and which practitioner categories you need. It also decides what you must not offer on day one.
Form the company and secure initial approval
Trade licence with the correct activity, then DHA initial approval for the facility type and scope through Sheryan, before any lease is signed.
Premises and layout approval
Treatment rooms, hygiene and waste arrangements and clinical flows reviewed against the published requirements. Aesthetic clinics live and die on this step because founders start from the interior design instead of the layout rules.
Medical director and practitioner credentialing
Every practitioner licensed in their own name under the facility, operating within their approved scope. In our builds the clinical team is engaged on a contracted basis, so payroll follows bookings.
Products through licensed channels
Fillers, toxins and device consumables sourced, stored and recorded under licence, using products registered for the UAE market. This is where our Pharmareg UAE heritage does the heavy lifting.
Policies, inspection, launch
Consent, screening, emergency and complication protocols, record keeping, then the facility inspection and the licence. Bookings open on a clinic that can pass any inspection that follows.
Where aesthetic founders go wrong
- Fit out before layout review. A beautiful interior that fails clinical layout review is the most expensive mistake in the category.
- Menu beyond scope. One treatment outside the approved scope puts the whole licence at risk.
- Practitioners outside their category. Who may inject, operate devices or supervise is defined by the regulator, not by experience.
- Grey market product. Unregistered product in the fridge is an inspection failure, whatever the brand paid for it.
Our wellness and longevity clinic build covers exactly this category: licence, premises, practitioners, product chain and governance, delivered turnkey and handed over ready to trade.
